Grade 7 TopicsRévision- Our first couple weeks will review some common French vocabulary. We will talk about ourselves and our interests in French. We will also learn about several listening strategies that you can use to decipher oral French texts and then practice using various basic videos and audio clips.
Les nombres- Numbers are everywhere! From addresses, dates and times to money, ages and phone numbers, we'll cover them all. We will learn some tips and tricks to remembering our numbers from 1-1000. We will also learn how to order numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd) so that you can make choices! La petite sirène- this unit teaches students to use reading strategies while following the classic tale of Ariel the mermaid. |
Grade 8 TopicsJe me présente- After reviewing some familiar sentence starters, we will begin to learn how to draft a letter introducing ourselves in French. We will learn to respect proper letter format, how to write about ourselves in details and how to connect our thoughts using transition words.
L'Halloween- For the month of October, we will work on our listening comprehension skills by listening to short stories and identifying the main details. Students will learn how to depict the plot, main characters and the setting with a limited vocabulary. Additionally, students will look at haunted houses to learn the vocabulary needed to describe where they live! Les adjectifs- In this mini-unit, we will learn how to accurately describe objects. We will focus on delivering clear presentations using voici, c'est and il y a. We will focus on correct adjective placement (the BANGS rule) and how to accord adjectives to masculine and feminine things! |
