Les phrases mélangées
While learning to write and speak in French, we have been focusing on the appropriate order of sentences. We know that we typically start with a subject (je, tu, il, elle, Julie, Paul....etc.) and then we follow it with an action word.
When listening to French texts or having conversations, knowledge of how a French sentence works helps with our understanding. Take a look at the photo to the left and practice your "phrases mélangées" with the link below!

2) Expressions of possession (de)
In English, we use and apostrophe S ('s) to show that something belongs to someone. For example, Sammy's cat.
In French, we replace the 's with the word de! We also switch the noun and the subject. So to say Sammy's cat, it would be le chat de Sammy.
